When packing your whole life into an RV you have to make choices about what to take.
With space being so limited Debbie had to leave most of our Christmas decorations
in storage back in Florida.

At roughly 300 sq. ft. it doesn't take much to decorate our home

Stockings hung by our fireplace (actually heats the space up nicely)



The Christmas Tree looks good but this tree, which stays up all year long looks so much better.
This tree reminds us how much we have to be thankful for
It is the Tree of Hope, Health and Happiness and was given to Debbie by her brother in-law Rick
last year while she was undergoing her successful radiation treatments.


The Tucson Zoo has a fund raiser where you can go in after darks to see the lights and some of the animals like lions and tigers and bears (oh my) in a nocturnal setting 




They also had approximately 12 local craft brewers throughout the facility
so you could sample their brews


It was a great evening for a good cause

Whale Watching On Tuesday August 6 we went on a whale watching tour out of Anacortes Washington Sailing northwest into the San Juan Islands we saw many harbor seals and sea lions After about 1 1/2 hours ...... whale hooooo We found a small pod of 3 Gray Whales We watch them for about 30 minutes and at one point one of them did a somersalt like move coming partially out of the water while thrashing his tail. Of course I did not get that picture. Waco Texas to Galveston

Waco Texas to Galveston Texas is a big state with lots of miles in between our stops. After leaving Roswell NM we had two full days of driving to get to our first destination, Waco, Texas. We learned that the Chisholm Trail came through this part of Texas The Chisholm Trail was a trail used in the post-Civil War era to drive cattle overland from  ranches in Texas to Kansas railheads. Cattle were driven along the trail and brought across the Brazos River over this toll bridge in Waco https://wacohistory.org/items/show/24 We also visited the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame Museum And then we had to see the newest tourist attraction in Waco The Silos at Magnolia Market.... created by Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV Fixer Upper Fame! US Military Bone Yard

The Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona is home to the largest military aircraft boneyard in the world. The 2,600 -acre boneyard currently holds over 3,975 aircraft and 13 aerospace vehicles from the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy-Marine Corps, and NASA. This is where all the unused and obsolete aircraft are parked in the desert until they can be either sold or scrapped. Security is tight here and you must submit 10 days in advance to a background check before they will allow you to make a reservation for the boneyard tour. When entering the base on the tour everyone must exit the bus and wait in a windowless concrete garage type building while they search the bus. While traveling across the base on your way to the boneyard no photos are allowed until you enter the boneyard gate.
