We have been quite busy since arriving in Tucson back on November 26.

Had to come a little earlier then planned to have some repairs made to Winne.
Back in October we were backed into by a car carrier in the Mississippi Welcome Center
causing damage to the grill and the fiberglass around it.

While it really wasn't major damage I am happy to report that after 4 days in the shop
everything is as good as new.

Been doing the urban thing downtown. Much to see with the University of Arizona in the middle of downtown and entire city blocks being raised and redeveloped.

Definitely a Mexican and Spanish influence in some of the architecture

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the U.S.-Mexican War. Signed on 2 February 1848, it is the oldest treaty still in force between the United States and Mexico. As a result of the treaty, the United States acquired more than 500,000 square miles of valuable territory of which Arizona was part.

Just a short 45 minute drive south of Tucson is Tombstone Arizona, site of the
Gun Fight at the OK Coral

Much history here with most of the town preserved with the original buildings and wooden sidewalks
however it is more of a tourist attraction instead of a historic site.

Most of the buildings are privately owned and many owners want to charge you to
see the history within.

Tombstone was interesting and some of the shop keepers were professional and friendly however it was obvious  that many locals do not care for the tourist, only the dollars they bring.
