Victoria British Columbia
Victoria British Columbia
In honor of Debbie's birthday we are going International
That's right, we have packed our bags and passports and hopped the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria British Columbia for a 2 day, 1 night adventure.
That's right, we have packed our bags and passports and hopped the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria British Columbia for a 2 day, 1 night adventure.
After a quick 90 minute crossing into Canada we arrived at the busy harbor in Victoria
The harbor is a swarm of activity with several big ferries, a flotilla of small water taxies running everywhere to the many float planes coming and going
The Fisherman's Wharf area of town is a community of houseboats along the harbor
There were also many working boats tied up at Fisherman's Wharf
It was so nice walking around the waterfront and downtown... there is so much to see
and the people are very friendly
Victoria is a small, very walkable city and very clean city
Down at the harbor you can catch a ferry to Vancouver or the US, take a whale watching tour
or take a float plane tour.
There is a large Chinese population here and they boast the largest China Town in the country
The streets and narrow back alleys of China Town are filled with restaurants and shops
We had a real Chinese dinner at a restaurant on the second floor of a building
along the main street in Chinatown.
Seemed a little odd going up the narrow steps in an old building to get to the restaurant but
it was definitely the real deal
With the Legislative Assembly Building and the many downtown museums we could have
spent several more days here.
While waiting for the ferry for our return trip we spent time watching the float planes take off
and land while dodging water taxies, tug boats and barges
Happy Birthday Debbie
